Perp Labs' first project, initially known as "Strike," pivoted to focus on perpetual futures in 2020, rebranding as Perpetual Protocol. At its core, Perpetual Protocol is a decentralized exchange (DEX) for perpetual futures trading, running on blockchain technology.

The PERP token is a governance token that powers staking and incentives within Perpetual Protocol, allowing holders to influence the protocol’s future through the Perpetual DAO.
